QSR Magazine recently named Baton Rouge one of the top small cities for growth within the quick service industry. While the market remains a popular choice for new restaurants - the fact that it's a college town adds to the appeal - finding real estate has caused some roadblocks.
MOOYAH Burgers, Fries & Shakes franchisee Chuck Kerr can attest to the popularity of Baton Rouge - his location on Siegen Lane spent its first two years as the franchise's top performing restaurant.
While Kerr will open his second area location near the LSU campus this spring, he has noticed other QSRs developing further out from the rapidly-growing Baton Rouge market.
“Zachary is a thriving place right now,” he told the Baton Rouge Business Report. “So are Central and Prairieville. They’re all good outskirting markets that Baton Rouge is growing towards.”
